Tree Line USA Award Given to Avista
AnnouncementsAvista was recently recognized with the Tree Line USA Award.
The Arbor Day Foundation Tree Line USA program “seeks to promote best practices in utility arboriculture and public education through five core standards: quality tree care, annual worker training, tree planting and public education, tree-based energy conservation programs, and Arbor Day celebrations.”
CN Utility Consulting President Stephen R. Cieslewicz and Vice President of Operations Derek Vannice were both members of the committee responsible for drafting the current standards of the Tree Line USA award.
“The Tree Line USA award provides due recognition to utilities that are going above and beyond,” said Cieslewicz.
“Avista is not only providing safe and reliable electric service to their customers but is also serving as a steward of the land by protecting one of our greatest assets, our tree canopy.”
Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark presented Avista with the award April 27 at the Spokane Conservation District in Spokane Valley. Avista Junior Vegetation Manager Larry Lee, Avista Senior Vegetation Manager Pam Luders, a general foreman from Asplundh, and CN Utility Consulting Supervisor Iban Ocampolucero accepted the award.
