Announcements

CN Utility Consulting (CNUC) has promoted Matt Searels to regional supervisor in the eastern United States. Matt will report to Eastern U.S. Regional Manager Josh Beaver; he will manage consulting utility foresters and assist utility clients with their vegetation management needs while ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

Searels’ Experience

Prior to becoming regional supervisor, Matt was a lead consulting utility forester for CNUC on the Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation contract. He was the lead author of Comparing Ginsenoside Production in Leaves and Roots of Wild American Ginseng (Panex quinquefolius) released in the American Journal of Plant Sciences, which was published in 2013. In 2012, Matt was involved in the Student Conservation Association, where he gained experience in systematic mapping, herbicides, fire effects monitoring, invasive vegetative species removal and gathering vegetative data. Matt was also on the University of North Carolina Asheville Botany Research Team and is an Eagle Scout.

“Matt’s technical knowledge and research background will complement the other members of our management team. He will serve as a great technical resource for our employees and our clients. Matt also brings strong managerial skills that will help us continue to grow as a company. We are very excited about having him as a part of the management team,” said VP of Operations Derek Vannice.
